NASI UDUK

Nasi uduk meaning “Mixed rice”. Nasi uduk is one of favourite food in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. People of Jakarta usually eat nasi uduk in the morning for breakfast. It is made by mixing steamed rice with coconut milk, clove, cinnamon, lemongrass, and ginjer. Nasi uduk is often served with cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, fried sambal, fried tempe, etc.

 For making nasi uduk

Ingredients:
-2 cup long grain rice
-1 can coconut milk
-3 lemongrass
-5 daun salam(Indian bayleaf)
-2 tbs salt
-1 cup water

Directions:
      1.      Clean rice thoroughly and drain
      2.      Steam the rice on steamer until they turn white
      3.      and remove
      4.      Heat a pot add all the ingredient including the steam rice, shimmer until the liguid gone but keep stiring so it wont sticky
      5.      Put the rice back to the steamer, for 15 min or until the rice is cooked done
      6.      Serve with coconut chilli sauce, cucumber, sliced omelette, potato patties( perkedel) , padi oat chip , and fried shallot
      7.      It may look dificult to make but it taste preety good

TOURISM OBJECTS IN BALI



TANAH LOT
Tanah lot is located about 30km Northwest part from Denpasar city at Bratan village. It is most important sea temples. Tanah lot is built on the top a hug rock which is surrounded by the sea.Built by one of the last priests who came to Bali from Java in16th century,its rituals include the paying of homage to the guardian spirits of the sea. Poisonnous sea snakes found at the base of the rocky island are believed to guard the temple from evil spirit and intruder.The best time to see Tanah lot is in the late afternoon.

KINTAMANI
It is located about 65km from Denpasar city. Kintamani is the most popular mountain resort in Bali.Its close by Mount Batur and Lake Batur. The villages of Kintamani call themselves of Bali Aga or original Balinese. When the day is bright, the visitors can enjoy to see the top of Mount Batur and the quite blue of Lake Batur. The air is so fresh and cool.

KECAK DANCE
Kecak is a kind of Bali’s dance. Kecak is a unique dance from Bali. Kecak dance is not accompanied of music or gamelan but, just ochestra of 100 males. Kecak dance is a very powerful performances. The visitors can enjoy to watching the dance is in the evening.

KUTA BEACH
Kuta is a beautiful beach.It is located about 11km Northern part of Denpasar city.It is a popular beach with clean sandy, big wave good for water sports such as: surfing, jetski and etc. Although current make it less suitable for swimming. The visitors can enjoy the beautiful sunset.

TANJUNG BENOA
It is located at the Eastern coast of Bali. Tanjung Benoa is a beautiful beach with clean sandy, big wave good for water sports such as: surfing, parasailing, jetski, bananaboat, flying fish and the cost is expensive. The visitors can visit Turtle island by  shipboat.During the trip the visitors can see many kinds of fishes and give a bread them.

GOA GAJAH
Goa gajah derived 2 words: Goa means cave and Gajah means elephant, so the meaning of the name is elephant cave.Its located in Gianyar regency about 2.6 from Denpasar city.It becomes an ancient monument.In ancient time. It was used by the hindu sages for meditadion. Later on it was also used by Buddist monks for the same purpose.  There is a ganesha statue inside with four hands.

TIRTA EMPUL Temple
It is located about 36km from Denpasar city, Gianyar regency. The temple of pura Tirta empul is built around the sacred spring at Tampak Siring. Over 1000 years old, the temple and its two bathing places have been  used by the people for good health and prosperity because of the spring water’s curative powers. Regular ceremonies are held for purification. Specialities of the area bone and ivory carvings, and seashell ornament.

BARONG DANCE
Barong dance is kind of Bali’s dance.This is basically a story about the struggle betwen good and evil.
Good is personified by the Barong Keket,a strange,funloving creature in the shape of shaggy semilion.
Evil is represented by Rangda.Ultimately,the two characters engage in battle, at which pont the barongs keris bearing followers rush in to attack Rangda. The Barong and Rangda dance is a very powerful performance and is not taken lightly by those involved.

GARUDA  WISNU KENCANA(GWK)
Mandala Garuda Wisnu Kencana known as GWK,is designed and expected to be the landmark of Bali as the new tourism destination to combine culture social economy and various environmental aspects.
The main mark of this compelx is a bust of God Wishnu 144.64 m height,surrounded by 60 pavilions for countries and world culture institution, museum international Gallery,International Conference Hall,and Exhibition hall.
GWK monument is located on a high place overlooking beautiful panorama of the surrounding,around 4 km from Desa Jimbaran.

SANGEH
 It is located at the northern part of Sangeh Village Abiansemal District Badung Regency.It is about 21 km from Denpasar city and can be reached by car easily with a good condition. In the 17th century during the golden period of Mengwi Kingdom.There are many monkeys at Sangeh,they are funny monkeys. Nutmeg tree forest of 10 hectares is a holy territory. According to the mythology from the local villagers, the word of Sangeh is derived from the root “Sang” that means a determiner for person and “Ngeh” means seeing or observing.

TAMAN AYUN
Taman ayun is located at Mengwi village,
Mengwi district,Badung regency. It is about 18 km from Denpasar city and can be reached any transportation.
The huge state temple of Pura Taman Ayun surrounded by a wide moat, was the main temple of Mengwi kingdom.
The temple was originally built in 1634 and renovated in1937. Its very large and the elegant.

THE MONUMENT OF BALINESE PEOPLE’S STRUGGLES
The monument is located at Niti Mandala (civic center of Bali Province). It takes about 7 minutes from sanur, 10 minutes from downtown Denpasar city and 30 minutes from the airport.
The width of its building is 4,900 square meters, while the whole square is 138,830 square meters.
The building divides the space of a compound into three parts consisting of:
1.Utama Mandala or Jeroan(the primary or holiest part)
2.Madia Mandala or jaba Tengah(the middle part)
3.Nisa Mandala or Jaba Sisi(the profante part)
